From the heights of architecture, at the turn of the 19th and 20th century, photographs by six authors accompanied by texts written by Claude Eveno.

Between the Goëtheanum by Steiner, the Castel Béranger by Guimard, Notre-Dame-du-Travail by Astruc, the Institut de Géologie by Lechner, the Halles by Freyssinet or the Moscow subway, there is no historic or scientific affiliation, if not a meeting of common photographic sensibilities and an edifice surprising today.

Whether it be open, closed, covered, English, honor courtyard or service backyard, mineral or vegetable, the courtyard is part of the Parisian urban heritage and memory. The multiplicity and variety of the courtyards in the 11th arrondissement in Paris is, in this respect, exemplary. Les Cours du 11e, a living heritage, lets us push open portes cochères or carriage entrances, to glance beneath the porch and to discover an inside world, a secret Paris buried in the depths of the city.

Witness to the metamorphosis of Berlin, 8 years after the fall of the wall, this work confronts the approach of five photographic authors

Looking at these photographic itineraries, Vincent von Wrobleswky, German philosopher, born in France parents from Berlin, emigrated in 1993, delivers his impressions that accompany the successive transformations of the city.

The Bibliothèque Nationale de France in collaboration with Archipress proposes three points of view on the transfer of the collections from the quadrilateral Richelieu site to the François-Mitterrand site. The works by  Jean-Christophe Ballot, Luc Boegly and Candida Höfer evoke these places of memory, full of mystery, of suspended life, from the perspective of rigorous esthetic viewpoints, that, beyond all seduction, reveal an unexpected imaginary world.

“ There are some probable tragedies (...) in the decay revealed in the old deserted racks that form an ideal décor for the final scene of a cruel detective novel.”
